Bernardo Silva has hit out at the Professional Footballers’ Association over their Premier League Team of the Year insisting Manchester City ‘don’t get credit’ they deserve.
The Portugal international was included in last season’s selection yet has bemoaned the PFA for the omission of multiple City players.
Despite clinching the league title last season, the Cityzens only had three players in the team, while second-placed Liverpool boasted six.
The Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp also pipped Man City boss Pep Guardiola to the PFA Manager of the Year Award – and a disgruntled Silva could not understand the reasoning behind the City snubs.
“I’m not complaining here, but I feel like other clubs get a lot more credit than Man City for doing less,” he said via ESPN.
“For example, when I was at Benfica – a huge club in Portugal with more fans, more everything – you do something nice, and they make it look like it’s great. Here at Man City, you do something great and they make it look like it’s just good.
“I’m not complaining, but playing in the Premier League and winning four titles in five years and checking the Premier League team of the year every year and knowing that we’re never the team that has the most players.
“We don’t have the best manager, we don’t have the best players, but we still win four Premier Leagues in five years? It just doesn’t make sense. It probably shows that Man City players don’t get as much credit as they should. Of course, we don’t get the credit that we deserve.”
These Bernardo Silva’s comments shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.

“Man City play so well as a team that people don’t notice how good each player is individually. Each team performance is so good that no-one stands out in particular. This is why Gabriel Jesus and Zinchenko look world class at Arsenal but normal at City.”

“Liverpool be having 6/7 players in the team of the season but finish 2nd most of the time. Absolute joke”
