‘Everyone knows it’ – Pep Guardiola raves about ‘exceptional’ Jude Bellingham amid Man City transfer links

Jude Bellingham starred for Borussia Dortmund against Manchester City in the Champions League last night, and Pep Guardiola was beyond impressed.

City went into the game as the favourites and they got the job done. However, Dortmund made them work really hard, and Bellingham’s opener in the 56th minute definitely gave Guardiola’s side a bit of a scare.

All eyes were on Erling Haaland last night as the Norwegian faced Borussia Dortmund for the first time since leaving them for Manchester City in the summer. Unsurprisingly, he delivered.

However, the most impressive player on the pitch was arguably Bellingham, who was fantastic last night.

The young Englishman was excellent on the ball, was brilliant off it and to top it off, he scored a really impressive header to give his side the lead.

City came from behind to get the job done in the end, but Bellingham impressed everyone – including Guardiola.

The Spaniard said, as quoted by Yahoo Sport UK: “I was impressed two seasons ago when he was 17. Now he’s 19… he was good at 17, imagine now at 19.

“He’s able to follow [Ilkay] Gundogan, Kevin [De Bruyne], win the duels, transitions are fast, to have the sense in the box for the goal he scored.

“So yes, an exceptional player. I think everybody knows it, not because the manager of Manchester City says it, everybody knows it.”

Pep Guardiola’s side continue to be credited with an interest in Bellingham, as has been the case for more than a year now.

It’s understood that Bellingham is someone who is widely admired by many Premier League sides including Liverpool and Manchester United. But Dortmund are thought to value the 19-year-old in excess of £100m.
