Pep Guardiola has named his starting line-up for Manchester City’s Premier League showdown with Wolves at Molineux this lunchtime.
The Premier League champions will be hoping to end the first segment of the new campaign with a win, as the players head in to the first international break of the season.
Wolves have endured somewhat of a difficult start to the season, but will be buoyed by the signing of Diego Costa in recent days.
Ahead of kick-off in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, both Wolves and Manchester City have confirmed their respective starting line-ups!
Guardiola has made three changes from the Dortmund clash midweek with Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden all coming into the side; Nathan Ake, Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez drop to the bench.
As for Wolves, Lage has made just one change from their last match with Goncalo Guedes replacing the injured Sasa Kalajdzic.
New signing Diego Costa is not in the Wolves squad for today’s clash as the match is likely to have come too soon after such a long time off.
Wolves
Starting XI: Sa; Otto, Collins, Kilman, Ait Nouri; Nunes, Neves, Moutinho; Neto, Guedes, Podence.
Substitutes: Sarkic, Mosquera, Gomes, Bueno, Semedo, Ronan, Traore, Campbell, Hwang.
Manchester City
Starting XI: Ederson; Stones, Dias, Akanji, Cancelo; Rodrigo, De Bruyne (C), Bernardo; Foden, Haaland, Grealish.
Substitutes: Ortega Moreno, Carson, Walker, Ake, Gundogan, Alvarez, Gomez, Mahrez, Palmer.
The lineup was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

I’m really tryna support Grealish but he hasn’t deserved the start over Alvarez for quite some time

So we haven’t learned from any previous games. How many times does it have to fail for Pep to understand cancelo and Grealish together on the left doesn’t work???

Why does Alvarez not start… he’s proven how good he is, he’s super energetic, chases every ball and gives 100%. Why isn’t that good enough for Pep?! 😤 front 3 should be foden, Haaland and Alvarez every time!

No alvarez?? Shocking. But pep is the gaffer so maybe he has his reasons

Disappointed. No alvarez and Phillips is not even in the squad
