Encouraging update on Erling Haaland’s status for next game after missing out with injury

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is not showing any signs of visible fitness problems following ligament damage, according to latest reports.

Erling Haaland has been a revelation since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer. The striker has scored an impressive 22 goals in only 16 matches this season.

While they certainly haven’t struggled without Haaland, the two matches without the Norwegian have seen City score only once. While Pep Guardiola’s team claimed a win over Leicester at the weekend, Kevin De Bruyne’s free-kick proved to be the only difference at the King Power Stadium.

Haaland’s previous injury woes were a worry for City fans and they have now had their first taste of it as he sat out of the clash with the Foxes due to a foot injury he picked up against Borussia Dortmund last week.

The official club website described the 22 year-old as being ‘not fully fit’, but Pep Guardiola on BBC Sport provided an update on Haaland’s injury ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Sevilla.

Following City’s win over Leicester, Guardiola said: “He has ligament damage. He feels better, we have one more week. He won’t play against Sevilla because we’ve already qualified and hopefully against Fulham he can help us. If not he might play against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.”

Now, a more encouraging update has been provided on the Manchester City centre-forward, offering hope of an imminent return to action for the man with 25 goal contributions already this season.

According to an excusive report from City Xtra, Erling Haaland is currently walking with no difficulties, and is certainly not showing any signs of limping despite the foot injury sustained last week.

Haaland was in attendance at a Halloween event on Sunday night, alongside several of his Manchester City teammates.

Pep Guardiola is expected to provide an update on the fitness of Erling Haaland during his pre-match press conference, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

What is Erling Haaland’s injury record?

When Haaland joined City, the fans’ only concern was his previous injury record that he had struggled with in Dortmund. Despite becoming one of the world’s best forwards during his time in Germany, Haaland missed around 150 days with injury across three seasons.

The former RB Salzburg ace suffered three injuries last season alone, including over a month on the sidelines with a muscular problem earlier this year.
