Premier League players in the World Cup: How much each club will earn

Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United will all pocket over £1.5m for allowing their players to represent their countries during the group stages of the World Cup.

Every squad has players from all over the globe. There is a wide variety of players from numerous leagues, yet the Premier League is the most commonly seen. Throughout all 32 squads, a whooping 132 players come from the Premier League.

To no surprise, England sent the most Premier League players to the world cup out of any nation. Besides Jude Bellingham, the rest of England’s 25 players are from the Premier League! Brazil’s 12 Premier League players are the second most in the World Cup, with Portugal’s 10 players being the third most. Only six nations sent no Premier League players. Those nations are Australia, Canada, Costa Rica, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.

Manchester City sent the most players to the world cup out of all the Premier League squads with 16 players, yet none of them are named Erling Haaland. Manchester United’s 14 players were just short of City’s total. The three big London squads had a bunch of success with sending players to the world cup. Chelsea was able to send 12 players while Arsenal and Spurs both sent 10 players.

Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Southampton were only able to get two of their players sent to the world cup. Leeds was able to send three players; avoiding the last-place tie.

Group B by far has the most Premier League players out of all the groups with a staggering 41 players playing across England, Wales, USA and Iran. Group C only has eight Premier League players with Argentina having five of those players. 132 players would be able to produce 12 starting elevens. That is nearly half of the World Cup. The quality of the Premier League was shown by the players that got selected for the world cup.

How much each Premier League club will earn from players being at World Cup

FIFA will pay around £8,500 per player, per day. There will be six days of training before the tournament and a 13-day group stage meaning each player will earn their club at least 19 days worth of cash – a total of £161,500. Beyond that it very much depends on how far each nation progresses, with the competition going on for a further 16 days after the final group game.
