French newspaper L’Equipe have named two Manchester City players in their team of 2022.
The authoritative French publication L’Equipe has presented its version of the symbolic team of the best football players of 2022. It includes representatives of seven clubs and seven national teams.
The largest representation in the symbolic team was received by Real Madrid, who delegated three players to the team. Among the national teams, France is represented by the largest number of players – three players.
L’Equipe named Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker in their team of the year.
De Bruyne’s place in the best XI cannot be disputed. He is the best midfielder in world football while Walker remains one of the world’s best full backs.
De Bruyne and Walker both led Manchester City to the Premier League title in the summer, pipping Liverpool and Van Dijk.

Erling Haaland has been a goalscoring machine for Manchester City since his summer move from Borussia Dortmund but misses out.
The XI has caused a real stir amongst Man City fans with Rodri’s exclusion a particular talking point.
Others have questioned Casemiro and Gvardiol’s space in the side.

“Our fans complaining about how Rodri isn’t in over Casemiro shows how REACTIONARY and CASUAL it is. If we had a NORMAL fan base, we’d be complaining about how Theo Hernandez got in over Cancelo and how Gvardiol somehow scammed his way in.”
