Manchester City and Bayern Munich are both reportedly interested in signing Chelsea’s highly-rated youngster Levi Colwill.

Colwill looks like the next huge talent to come off the production line at Cobham, hoping to follow in the footsteps of players such as Reece James and Mason Mount.

The 19-year-old defender is still waiting to make his first-team debut for Chelsea, but he’s enhancing his reputation away from Stamford Bridge out on loan.

His latest loan success is this season with Premier League rivals Brighton.

Journalist Simon Phillips has shared that Colwill’s rise has not gone unnoticed, with Champions League sides Man City and Bayern both keen on him.

However, Chelsea want to keep the teenage centre-back and have held “informal talks” about a contract extension in west London.

“I’ve been told Colwill is attracting interest from giant clubs Manchester City and Bayern Munich this week. It’s just interest at this stage, but Colwill is certainly becoming a player that many big clubs are watching and aware of,” Phillips has claimed on his Substack.

“Chelsea spoke to him about a new deal over the weekend when he was back at Stamford Bridge. The club want to put another four years on his contract which will see his deal extended to 2029. At the minute I believe these discussions have just been informal, but I do expect Chelsea to step these up very soon with other clubs beginning to circle for him.”

Colwill has recently managed to force his way into Brighton’s starting line-up and is proving himself at Premier League level. Alan Shearer has claimed the Chelsea loanee “didn’t put a foot wrong” in Brighton’s 3-0 league win over Liverpool last weekend.
