Real Madrid are plotting a move for Manchester City play maker Bernardo Silva, as they look to revitalise their first team squad.

Real Madrid sit seven points adrift of Barcelona at the La Liga summit, and as such, the club hierarchy are keen to add some much needed fresh faces to the dressing room, with Bernardo Silva reportedly on their radar.

According to Sport, Carlo Ancelotti’s men are looking at the possibility of bringing Bernardo to the Bernabeu for £80m.

Barcelona, who were believed to be interested in Bernardo during the summer, are thought to be unwilling to match that valuation. The move for Bernardo by Los Blancos is believed to coincide with Toni Kroos potentially retiring or leaving Madrid.

It is said that Madrid believe Silva could add some spark and creativity to their attacking line, with the likes of Marco Asensio, Isco Alarcon and Lucas Vazquez struggling to provide consistent support to main striker Karim Benzema.

Elsewhere, Manchester City are reportedly weighing up a move to sign Real Madrid left-back Ferland Mendy.

According to SPORT, Manchester City and PSG are keeping a close watch on the situation of Mendy at Real Madrid and would be interested in signing him.

The 27-year-old, who has spent the last three-and-a-half years at the Santiago Bernabeu, has been the first-choice left-back under manager Carlo Ancelotti so far this season, starting 17 of his 18 appearances across all competitions.

In recent days, there has been a lot of speculation about Real Madrid wanting to reinforce their full-back positions in the coming transfer windows.

City boss Pep Guardiola has been using Joao Cancelo at left-back for a while now. While the club did sign Sergio Gomez in the summer, he is still lacking in experience at the highest level, which could force the Premier League champions into the market for another left-sided full-back.
