‘Get him or Kvaratskhelia’, ‘Add Mitoma to it too’ – Man City fans make clear transfer demand after Rafael Leao deadline reports

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club want to sign another forward this summer, with AC Milan’s Rafael Leao being closely monitored.

Leao is seen as one of Europe’s top young talents, having helped fire the Rossoneri to their first Serie A title in eleven years last season.

The Portuguese forward currently has a year and a half left on his contract, which expires in the summer of 2024.

Milan are anxious to agree an extension sooner rather than later, in order to either keep Leao at the San Siro, or be in a position to demand a high transfer fee should he wish to leave.

However, it is reported Leao has stalled on the £7 million contract offer currently on the table, heightening the concern to those at the San Siro.

Pep Guardiola’s side aren’t a club that do a lot of business in January, but Jack Gaughan and Tom Collomosse of Mail Online believe the Premier League defending champions were considering a move for Rafael Leao before the transfer window shuts.

While acknowledging there is a small pool of players that fit the bill for Pep Guardiola, they believe City are ‘closely monitoring’ the AC Milan forward.

Leao is regarded by many as one of the best wingers in world football and a talent who has the potential to go all the way in the future, and for City, the forward could easily be of Guardiola’s best-ever signings since joining the Manchester side.

With Erling Haaland leading City’s attacking line this season, adding more firepower in the form of Leao would make the Premier League giants one of the most dangerous clubs in all of Europe, and the Portuguese star himself could be open to such a transfer if a bid was to be made in the summer.
