Manchester City reportedly are considering a landmark visit to India during pre-season ahead of 2023-24 campaign.

Pep Guardiola’s side spent a few weeks out in the United States on pre-season tour last summer, with plans already being made for the upcoming campaign.

According to a report by Football Insider, the Blues are plotting a pre-season visit to India this summer.

Known to have a significant fan base in the south Asian country, Pep Guardiola’s side have garnered rising support in India swiftly since the Abu Dhabi takeover in 2008.

As per the report, It is likely that City’s trip to the subcontinent would see them play a one-off match as opposed to a fully-fledged tour.

A single match against CFG -owned Mumbai City FC would likely not draw sufficient crowds as they are not among the best-supported sides in the division.

India is not a typical destination for high-end European clubs to prime themselves for a new campaign, with most favouring the United States or East Asia where they have established fanbases.

Earlier this year, City announced a regional partnership with Reliance Jio, India’s leading digital services brand, as the club’s official mobile communications network partner in the country.
