‘What a miss!’, ‘surely the worst of the season’ – Erling Haaland brutally mocked after Man City moment against Nottingham Forest

Erling Haaland has been brutally mocked for his costly miss in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.

City, who saw title rivals Arsenal grab a dramatic late win at Aston Villa in the early kick-off, dominated at the City Ground and took the lead shortly before the break through Bernardo Silva.

The visitors should have been further ahead in the second half, with Haaland spurning their best chances, including two in one passage of play.

After Keylor Navas had failed to hold a shot, the ball broke to Haaland, whose volley into the ground struck the bar. Fortuitously, the ball came back to the Premier League’s leading scorer inside the six-yard box.

A goal looked inevitable, only for Haaland to incredibly smash it over the bar, to the disbelief of the City fans behind the goal.

It proved to be a costly miss as Chris Wood levelled six minutes from time as Forest grabbed an unlikely point.

Man City Fans on social media and of others clubs – couldn’t help but poke fun at Haaland, who has been almost unstoppable during his first season in English football.

@ProudlyAustin: “How did Erling Haaland miss that chance? It’s confirmed now that he is human.”

@FplXavi: “Saw the first one and thought, not too bad. Then saw the second 😂”

@FootballJOE: “Haaland has just missed an absolute sitter. He is human after all”

@DabblePebble: “Haaland, what a miss! While Coleman scores the goal of the season, Haaland with miss of the season!”

@mcfclivia: “Mbappe is so clear I’m genuinely sorry for ever comparing”

@Jakeeeeeee_: “Nah that Haaland double miss is surely the worst of the season?. ”

@UsyHamza10: “Haaland miss is a contender for miss of the season ”

@AbuchiEmmanue12: “Remember when Haaland missed something similar at the start of the season??? He’s coming back mint”

@max_k1n: “Erling Haaland today was poor unfortunately. Don’t understand why he went down when he was clean on goal and of course the missed sitters, the rest of the team also wasting chances. Hopefully this doesn’t affect our CL, though the team played extremely well first half. ”
