Man City eyeing move for 27-year-old Serie A midfielder pand more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly keeping a close eye on Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who wants a €10 million-a-year contract.

The 27-year-old Frenchman has proven himself an important part of Massimiliano Allegri’s Bianconeri squad this season, playing a key role in the centre of the midfield.

His current deal expires at the end of this season and the club are keen to retain the former Paris Saint-Germain man, but talks have not gone particularly well with his mother-agent Veronique.

Latest reports suggested that Juventus have offered Rabiot a new two-year contract worth around €7m net per season, the same salary he currently earns. The offer is far off his €10m wage demands.

As reported by Football Italia, Rabiot is hoping for a move to the Premier League in the summer and has attracted the attention of Manchester City, who are keeping tabs on his position with Juventus.

Rabiot could prove to be a value-for-money signing. The 27-year-old is at the peak of his career and he will be determined to prove himself at a higher level.

Elsewhere, Fichajes have reported that Real Madrid do not want to spend more than €100m on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, which could potentially open the door to City to win the race for his signature.

Bellingham is out of contract in 2025, meaning Dortmund can demand a hefty price for him this year. Should City, or Liverpool, make a move for the midfielder, it is likely to be a British transfer record.

It comes after reports from the Athletic which claim the German club have set a £132m asking price for the England international, with the 19-year-old expected to depart at the end of the season.
