Manchester City are currently actively working on a move to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in the summer transfer window, confirms Fabrizio Romano.
The Citizens are expected to undergo major changes to their first-team playing squad during the upcoming summer transfer window, and the midfield roles are an area to be addressed.
City’s top midfield target is Jude Bellingham, but the club face competition from Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea.
The 19-year-old midfielder is already regarded as one of the best midfielders in world football at such a young age and is already a solidified England national team player too.
He is likely to be at the centre of major transfer attention after excelling for the German club this season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are ‘busy’ working on a deal for the aforementioned England international.
As the player is understood not to have a release clause in his current Bundesliga contract, there is expected to be a significant bidding war for the teenager that could comfortably exceed the £100 million mark.
The report on Bellingham shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
@nwanneka_omeche: “Now we are talking.”
@Softwaresantos_: “That would be a big addition.”
@Mutebi_Raymond: “Yeeeeees bring him to Etihad, his masterclass deserves a coach like Pep.”
@322bts: “Bring him, he will feed Haaland more.”
@Joe_mcfc_: “Another Txiki masterclass, and we’ll all be here when it happens 😎.”
@absolut_nerd: “Being a Man City fan I absolutely want Bellingham to come here. But the amounts of cash Madrid has collected last few years and the fact that Kroos and Modric are retiring. It will not be a surprise if Madrid takes this one.”
@Doozy_45: “Jude is a smart lad, he’ll be weighing up his options calmly and forensically. City can offer him all that he needs to further progress his already scintillating career. Under the tutelage of Pep, his all around game would be taken to dizzying new heights..”
