Liverpool prioritising a cut-price £35m move for Man City star and more transfer rumours

Liverpool are reportedly keen to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City this summer and he is available for around £35m.

The Englishman was one of the players Man City signed during last summer’s transfer window. He earned himself this major move after shining for Leeds United and England.

But the former Leeds star has endured an injury-plagued start to his career at the Etihad, after failing to start a single game in the Premier League this season.

He has spent a large majority of the season so far recovering from a shoulder injury and playing second fiddle to first-choice Rodri, but he has still not proven himself in the short cameos Pep Guardiola has given him.

The Premier League champions are expected to have undergo a major transformation of their first-team squad this summer. As a result, the 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Etihad.

According to The Daily Star, Klopp has made Phillips one of his main targets and Liverpool are preparing a £35million move for the 27-year-old.

The report adds that Jurgen Klopp has targeted the England international after being priced out of a move for Jude Bellingham.

Further details claim that Kalvin Phillips, branded as ‘intelligent’ (via Manchester City News) himself is thought to be open to making his way to Anfield.

Elsewhere, Journalist Sergio Fernandez report that Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has grown unhappy at the club and wants to leave in the summer in favour of a transfer to FC Barcelona.

Laporte has fallen out of favour under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium this season, with the Man City manager preferring the likes of Manuel Akanji, Ruben Dias, John Stones, and Nathan Ake over him.

It has left the Spanish international disgruntled and wanting to secure an exit at the end of the season. And as per the report, Laporte is seeking a return back to his homeland as he dreams of joining Barcelona.

Laporte currently earns around €6.5 million per year at Manchester City and is understood to be willing to lower his salary in order to secure a move to Spotify Camp Nou.
