Manchester City are reportedly considering transfer moves for Josko Gvardiol and Evan Ndicka this summer as they look to strengthen in defence.
The reigning Premier League champions could perhaps do well to look at that area of their squad again after a challenging season in which they could face the surprise blow of missing out on the title to Arsenal.
According to 90min, City are among the clubs making the £75million-rated RB Leipzig centre-back Gvardiol a top priority this summer, while they could also consider swooping for Ndicka as he closes in on becoming a free agent this summer.
The report also claim Real Madrid are also chasing Gvardiol, who will surely have a long list of clubs to choose from if he does leave Leipzig.
City have a great squad, and one imagines the likes of Ruben Dias and Nathan Ake will continue to be key players for Pep Guardiola for the foreseeable future.
Elsewhere, Football Insider reports that Barcelona would likely accept a £90million bid for Man City target Ansu Fati this summer.
Financial problems at Camp Nou mean the La Liga giants will have to sell players to raise funds, and the 20-year-old midfielder could be one of many players made available at the end of the season.
FI reported on Friday (31 March) that Man City were plotting a move to sign Ansu Fati this summer following his father’s comments in the press.
Fati’s father openly expressed his frustration at his son’s lack of playing time at Barcelona, suggesting he should leave for another club in the summer.
“If it was up to me, I would take him [to another team]. As a dad, I am angry. Seeing Ansu play so little winds you up a little bit and sometimes I think as a father, not a coach,” said his father.
The comments put a number of clubs around Europe on red alert about Fati’s availability this summer, with Man United and Chelsea also keeping tabs on the situation.
