Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola picked up the phone to call Neymar last week to find out whether the Brazilian is looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Neymar missed the final few months of the season with an injury and was not present as PSG won the Ligue 1 title in their penultimate match at the weekend.
Reports in France indicated that PSG officials were far from happy about Neymar’s absence. It adds further speculation on his future in the French capital with rumours circulating throughout the past season.
It’s been reported that tension has grown between PSG and Neymar and a move could be on the cards this summer. Premier League clubs have shown a strong interest with Newcastle touted as a possible destination.
According to L’Equipe, Guardiola called Neymar personally this past week to discuss his current situation.
It’s claimed the Manchester City manager wanted to know the Brazilian’s state of mind considering he coached the player and is currently rehabbing a season-ending ankle injury.
While Guardiola wanted to see how his ex-player was doing, there’s little chance of seeing Neymar sign with Manchester City.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
