‘Gonna be so sad if we let him leave’ – Man City Fans react as another Premier league club assessing a transfer for Carlos Borges

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims West Ham United are assessing a transfer for starlet Carlos Borges.

The 19-year-old is ripping things apart for the Sky Blues’ U-21s side, registering an impressive 24 goals and 15 assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

While Carlos Borges is viewed as one of the most naturally talented prospects from the Manchester City academy, it seems like some Premier league clubs are now considering signing him ahead of next season.

A week ago, it was claimed that Southampton were ‘monitoring’ a move surrounding the 19-year-old talent.

Blessed with quick feet, bags of pace and directness, Borges, in some ways is the exact profile of wideman City fans have been crying out for throughout the ongoing campaign.

But now, it has been reported by the Daily Mail that West Ham are ‘doing their homework’ on Manchester City wonderkid Carlos Borges.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

@mancity_talk: “Think it’s obvious at this point that he won’t stay at City. Just hope there’s a buy back clause”

@ComeOnAlexa: “Loan or buyback. He’ll get premier league expierence”

@JonF_23: “Gonna be so sad if we let him leave. If so, at least have a buy back clause”

@ClaireMulcahy17: “Not unless it has a buy back, would rather he signs a new contract and goes on loan to play senior football”

@xvinnywx: “On loan would be a good shout just not permanent deal”

@shaxxszn: “If he doesn’t get a chance to play come summer nobody can complain if he leaves. It’s not his fault, he’s done all he can to get that call up. But pep best have a plan for Mebude if Borges goes. There should be a buy back too..”

@iGotTooMuchTime: “Honestly let them have him, I’d rather see our youth get signed and perform (Doyle, Romeo, McAtee, THB, Mbete, Trafford) than never get the chance at all. Borges has 24 goal contributions in 19 games and hasn’t got 1 second of 1st team football.”

@NotCombine: “Pep you better not.”

@CursedAlinkc: “just call him up Foden injured it his chance.”

@saeedmuaz10: “We need him at our team just like Foden.”
